Audie massaged me and our little baby boy Leon while I was pregnant with him nearly every week. Audie uses his intuition to be guided to the body parts that call for attention to then massage and stretch them firmly and yet with feeling. His treatment eased my lower back pain very effectively. He helped to create a lot of space in my belly so that I could carry our little big boy (9.2 pounds at birth) with ease. I love the relaxing and revitalizing over all effect. I felt wonderfully light and energized after the treatments. Audie's great humour makes the sessions a lot of fun. Thank you Audie!

It's not everyday you meet someone with the heart and skill of Audie Beazley.

I feel quite fortunate to have met him and experienced both his powerful style of Romi Romi and his amazing work as an artisan.

I feel with work of this type, the less said, the better. Without trying to rationalize what needs to be done, Audie gets straight to the point with clarity and insight, both in dealing with issues on a personal level, and explaining the traditions and protocols of Maori culture.

Sure you can go into a boutique and purchase carvings and such, but there will be no life or connection with the piece, or the artist. However, there is nothing that can compare with an original commission from Audie.

Reon wears it close to his heart, concealed under his clothing, so it is very rarely seen,

You can "feel" how it radiates "power and authority"

Without a doubt his "Taonga" reflects all that Reon represents

The strong solid lines, focused, determined, true, fixed and loyal

Unyielding when believing in what he thinks is "right"

He wears his "Taonga" with great esteem not only for himself and his values

But also with respect, acknowledgement, and the celebration of your "mana",

your skills and your "whanau"

It has lifted Reon to a higher place that only you and he can experience...........

The two words "Thank You" are simple but are given from the heart

Reon unquestionably has a true "treasure"

This will indeed be an important medium to help guide and carry him along his healing journey........

POUNAMU/Jade - Reb 2008.

The first time I saw Audie's work was at Native Agent in Auckland. They were absolutely beautiful and 'felt' very different to the other pieces in the shop. Some time after, I met him at the Titirangi Market and I asked him whether he could create a piece specific to an individual, as none of the pieces he had at the time - however beautiful - seemed quite right for my brother living overseas. Audie told me about his process - how he takes time to intuitively and spiritually connect the nature of the individual with the stone and I immediately knew that his creations were the kind of taonga I had been looking for. Audie ended up making several necklaces before the right one - one that could travel beyond our shores - came to him. It has since travelled to three continents and even journeyed beyond my brother and found itself a new home and a new mate! It really is a treasure.

The second time I came across Audie's work at the markets I found a piece for myself - or rather it found me. I had been looking for a necklace for some time after deciding that I could no longer 'wait' for someone to gift me the taonga I longed for. I looked at all his necklaces and again, although they were all stunning, none of them seemed right for me. Then his friend, who was looking after his stall, held up a pounamu and said, "I love this one". I truly had not seen it, despite looking, and I fell in love with it instantly. It was as if that small gesture was enough to satisfy my need to have a piece 'shared' with me, rather than taken. As it turns out, Audie told me that my pounamu necklace was the only one carved from a small piece of stone - of which he had no other. I wear it everyday and am truly blessed by this wonderful gift.

I had been wanting to share the sense of belonging and connection I enjoyed with my pounamu with my children. Christmas was coming up and it seemed the perfect opportunity to give them a truly blessed gift that could support their growing need for independence, whilst 'holding' them in a protective and loving embrace as they ventured out into the world. I asked Audie if he could create a piece for each of them - one that truly reflected their unique qualities and needs. I trusted Audie would take time and immerse himself in the process of creating my 'babies' taonga but, as a mother, I wanted to impart what I felt was necessary to embody in each piece. Audie asked me to write a few words about each child - not too much he said - but enough to help guide the process. I spent several days 'sitting' with this 'spiritual intention'. For me, although these are 'just' necklaces, they are created with a will and intent that meets the soul of the individual. Like everything, they are imprinted with the energy of the creator and, like a tattoo, this piece that you wear, is worn with purpose and meaning, whether you are aware of it or not. So, I took my time and joined Audie in maintaining consciousness of the process. Several words for each of my children came to mind and strong feelings of what they needed as well. I wrote these to Audie so that he might start his work yet still feeling a little nervous of what was to come, but knowing that it was really time to let go and see what would unfold for my children. When Audie had finished his work I drove to his house to pick them up. There, he had two boxes ready for me, each with a pounamu for my children. He opened the box for my eldest son and sitting there was, truly, my son's necklace - a piece that I could see innately met who he was as an individual. It's quite a remarkable thing to feel - to see such a treasure be created by someone else, for someone you love, yet imbued with such a 'knowing' of your loved one's character that you feel like you've met a very old and very wise part of them in the stone itself. It was very special! Audie explained what he had felt was important, what had 'come to him' and it matched my son perfectly. Next he opened my daughters box. I was overcome by what I saw. I had no expectation of what it would look like and I couldn't have imagined it - but when I saw it I knew it was hers. Again Audie talked about why this piece had come and it fit her perfectly, even more than I could have known. As a mother it was the first time I felt so clearly that my children were separate individuals from me. Of course I've known that all along, but to see how each piece met them with their unique souls in mind was so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. They were becoming their own independent selves and now they had a taonga to support them in their journeys. Needless to say I cried. I felt like I had two little soul treasures to give my children on Christmas and it was a great feeling! They welcomed their pounamu like they were old friends. I am truly thankful for such wonderful gifts!

POUNAMU/Jade - Fran 2008.

For our 10th anniversary, my wife and I decided to approach Audie to carve two Greenstone necklaces. We wanted something special and little did we know how special the whole process would be. It started with our choosing two pieces of Greenstone. There we sat on the floor with a bucket of water, and dozens of pieces of Greenstone. After about an hour, both of us had chosen a piece that we felt a connection.

Then we sat down with Audie to talk about design ideas and a little bit about us. Then Audie took the two pieces of Greenstone we chose, designed them, blessed them and carved them into two necklaces.

We will never forget the wonderful experience, when we arrived at Audie's house to receive the two necklaces. He explained to us the meaning of the two designs, and the characteristics of each stone. It was clear that unknowingly during the whole process, the two pieces were interconnected, just as interconnected as our lives. Depending on the situation we can each where the other's stone.

Recently, I've had a very stressful period of time. I wore the stone that Audie carved for me. The characteristic of the design and the feel of the stone were to enhance calmness. I can't explain why, but wearing the stone every day gave me the ability to deal with the stress.

As in any art form, there are two parts to the process. There is the craft of carving and the sense of design and feel. You can buy well crafted carvings but with Audie's work you have the true art of design and feel that makes his work so precious to wear and display.
